Dupuytren's Disease
Thickening of palmar tissue (fascia), presents as nodules / chords. Often, the chords extend into the fingers and cause flexion deformity with associated dysfunction.
Trigger Finger & Tendinopathy
Trigger finger disease is very common and may present as pain in the palm and/or knuckles. Additionally, clicking or locking of the affected fingers may occur, especially in the mornings.
Other common tendinopathy includes painful: DeQuervain’s (wrist), tennis elbow (outside of the elbow), golfers elbow (inside of the elbow), and others.
Fractures, dislocations, ligament injuries, & Instability
Falls, sports-related injuries, car accidents, or other trauma may cause fractures (broken or cracked bones), dislocations (joints out of place), ligament injuries, or instability of the hand, wrist, forearm, elbow, humerus, and shoulder.
Tendon Injuries
Tendons are rope-like structures of collagen connected to muscles that move joints. There are various causes for tendon injuries ranging from traumatic to attritional. Treatment of tendon injuries may be operative or non-operative depending on the situation.
Fingertip injuries
Injury to fingertips is very common and patients may suffer from an acute injury such as a circular saw accident or from a chronic injury that may have occurred a long time ago, yet the finger is still dysfunctional. Dr. Lekic specializes in restoring both aesthetics and function of the fingertip.
Arthritis: degenerative, Rheumatoid, & more
Arthritis is the wearing away of the smooth cartilage that covers bones at the area of the joints. It may be due to degenerative wear, following a trauma, or due to an underlying autoimmune disease such as rheumatoid arthritis, psoriasis, and more.

Muscle imbalance is often seen from an event that occurs around the time of birth (e.g. cerebral palsy, brachial plexus palsy) or one that occurs later in life (e.g. traumatic brain injury, stroke). A tumor is an abnormal growth that may be benign or malignant. Some tumors may be carefully observed while others should be removed.
